Why is the Hermès exhibition at the Grand Palais the must-see event of this winter?
the French house will present the « Hermès à tire-d’aile – The worlds of Leïla Menchari » exhibition at the Grand Palais,
from November 8 to December 3, 2017. This exhibition presents a series of eight thematic scenes put together by Nathalie Crinière, allowing us to discover the fascinating and imaginative memorable displays of Leïla Menchari that became the signature of the Hermès
windows from 1978 to 2013.
‘Draw me your dreams »
said Annie Beaumel who is in charge of Hermès
window displays, to Leïla Menchari as they met at 24, Faubourg Saint-Honoré. This was in 1961, she has just finished studying at the Beaux-Arts of Paris after having studied the arts in Tunis, her native city. Thus it was that Leïla Menchari made her debut at Hermès. From 1978 to 2013, she imagined, designed and realized the French designer’s window displays while at the same time heading up the Silk Colours Committee. The creative woman has always enjoyed playing around with materials and colors inspired by her travels, all while working with exceptional artisans.
From November 08, 2017 – December 03, 2017.
